We have exciting news to share! The Board of Trustees of Edgewood Campus
School has reviewed and approved a recommendation from the Buildings and Grounds
Committee and Finance Committee to accept a bid that will make it possible to
begin Phase 1A of our building and renovation project this summer. This includes
construction of three new classrooms and renovation of the west end bathrooms,
kindergarten entrances, bathrooms and cubby areas. Nine bids were received and
reviewed by the Buildings and Grounds committee and the contract will be awarded
to Building Systems General Corp. Not only was all of the criteria met or exceeded
by the bid received from Building Systems, but also the bid was the lowest received.
We have complete confidence in this company whose Vice President of Operations is
Jim Arneson, parent of two Edgewood Campus School students. In addition to the
other criteria, the Edgewood Campus School family connection is important to us.
The cost of this project falls within our Capital Campaign budget for this portion
of the construction.
While we are not able to share the actual groundbreaking with
all of our students and families, please be assured that we will have a special
celebration to commemorate this historic event when school begins and much of the
major construction is well underway.
Watch our website,
www.campus-school.edgewood.edu,
for updates on the construction and pray with us for good weather and successful,
timely progress every week. May God continue to bless us all as we begin this
exciting and long awaited addition to our school. We are confident that this
will be an improvement that will enable us to continue to provide innovative,
quality education long into the future.
Sincerely,
Sister Kathleen Malone, OP
President/Principal
